“Lois and I had a marvelous time on this trip. And as is our usual practice, Lois wrote a journal of our experiences and I made a series of videos and published my photos on the Internet so we could share memories of the trip with our friends, family and fellow participants.
[Here are my videos of] our Natural Habitat Adventures 12-day trip to Churchill, Manitoba, Canada to see the white beluga whales gather at the mouth of the Churchill River for calving. Here on the edge of Hudson Bay is a wildlife sanctuary for bird life, beluga whales and the great polar bear.
We spent two days in Winnipeg playing tourists in what turned out to be a vibrant, beautiful, cultural, photographically intriguing city. The city sits at the confluence of the Red River and the Assiniboine River at a point called The Forks. Well worth a visit.
We boarded a train for Churchill but had to disembark at Thompson, as the rail line between Thompson and Churchill had been washed away by record flooding just weeks before. Had time for a visit at Pisew Falls.
The last leg of our Natural Habitat Adventures’ 12- day trip to Churchill, Manitoba, Canada to see the white beluga whales gather a the mouth of the Churchill River for calving. Here on the edge of Hudson Bay is a wildlife sanctuary for bird life, beluga whales, and the great Polar Bear.”
