The monarch butterfly has the most highly evolved migration pattern of any known species of butterfly. They travel between 1,200 and 2,800 miles from the United States and Canada to central Mexican forests. However, climate change is beginning to threaten the monarch butterfly’s annual migration pattern by affecting weather conditions in both wintering grounds and summer breeding grounds.

Travelers from around the world visit the monarch butterfly sanctuaries where monarch butterflies gather together. When you visit the sanctuaries of the monarchs it is advisable to comply with the following rules:
