Video of the Week: One Minute with Kenya’s Extraordinary Elephants

Emily Deemer January 30, 2015 0

Check out one of our newest wildlife videos, featuring amazing elephant footage from our Kenya safaris!  Most of these scenes were filmed by Court Whelan, Nat Hab’s Conservation Travel Specialist.

Watch as these magnificent animals waltz peacefully through three different regions in Kenya: Samburu National Reserve and the famed Maasai Mara National Reserve.

There are plenty of cute baby elephants to be seen in this video too!  Some call the bond between a mother and baby elephant the closest of any mammal on the planet.  Female elephants give birth to a calf once every 4-5 years and after a 22-month pregnancy—the longest gestation period in the animal kingdom. The youngsters stay with their mothers for many years, and most females stick with their mother until she passes away.

Witness the unique relationships of elephants in the wild on one of our African safari adventures!
