Traveler Story: Yellowstone Wolf Quest & Photo Adventure

Natural Habitat Adventures July 15, 2017 0

“On one of our last days in Yellowstone, we drove past Blacktail Pond, but were not very hopeful about activity there. Earlier, we had seen a grizzly bear eating the carcass of a bison that had fallen into the pond and died after being unable to get out. When the grizzly bear emerged from hibernation in the spring, it pulled out this winter kill for a much needed source of protein.

This day, we were fortunate that we were able to observe and photograph this grizzly for a long time as it worked to get the last of the marrow from the bones of this bison.”
