WWF travelers voyaged over 600 miles on the Amazon during WWF’s Great Amazon River Cruise. Aboard the riverboat, travelers get closer to the natural splendor of the winding rivers and forests thick with wild species as they kayak, hike and fish for piranhas. The trip focuses on the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, which WWF supported when it was founded in 1982.

WWF has been working in the Amazon for 40 years and is at the forefront of efforts to protect the forests, species and people that call it home. There is a clear link between the health of the Amazon and the health of the planet. The rain forests, which contain 90-140 billion metric tons of carbon, help stabilize local and global climate.
