Nat Hab and WWF’s 2016 Catalog of the World’s Greatest Nature Journeys is on press!

Natural Habitat Adventures August 24, 2015 5

Last week Nat Hab’s Creative Director Mark Hickey flew to Vancouver, British Columbia to monitor the printing of the latest and greatest Catalog of World’s Greatest Nature Journeys for Natural Habitat Adventures and World Wildlife Fund.

Once again, the catalog is printed on 100% PCW FSC certified paper. That means 100% of the material the catalog is printed on was formerly someone else’s copy paper, direct mail flyer, billing statement or magazine. 100% reused, 100% repurposed.

In fact, by using paper with 100% post consumer recycled content, the following resources have been saved:

For the last eight years Nat Hab has chosen a 100% PCW paper for our catalog. “Raising the bar on conservation” is one of Natural Habitat’s Core ideologies, so we have to keep pressing and looking for the most environmentally friendly option available – even if that means added printing costs. We feel we are using the most responsible technologies and materials available to us to produce a catalog with the lightest impact on the planet.

Mark is especially excited about the stock we chose for this year’s catalog – Enviro Satin. Because of its smooth finish, the ink tends to sit “on top” of the sheet. Combine this with state of the art stochastic screen technology and great design –

“Well… let’s just say…this is best looking catalog that we’ve produced in my 15 years with Natural Habitat.”

The company who printed our catalog, Hemlock Printers Ltd. has a lengthy record of environmental responsibility and compliance with environmental regulations and best practices. They continue to take many steps to manage environmental issues, often exceeding regulatory standards. Today, environmental responsibility is an important consideration in all of Hemlock’s business decisions. The printing of Natural Habitat Adventures’ catalog was 100% carbon neutral and proudly bears the company’s “Zero” logo on the back cover. The extra cost to print the catalog in this fashion will be invested in recognized renewable and clean energy projects.

I agree with the conclusion about the look of this catalog. It really looks nice. The best part is the trips are even better.

Great partnership and product information on recycling, good job! NHA is a rather expensive service, for those who can afford it, it is no doubt an experience not to be forgotten.
